REMC1 now has a 10G link to Merit!

We actually have both the new 10G link and the original 1G link active, for redundant diverse fiber connections from us to Merit’s backbone in Houghton, and Merit has redundant links from Houghton, so we should have more reliable Internet from now on.

REMC 1 Director Mike Richardson was recently recognized for his work with the TRIG Statewide Device Purchasing project by the REMC Association of Michigan. At their annual conference in June they presented him with the International Society of Technology in Education’s ‘Making IT Happen’ Award.
